How APD Does Energy Awareness (All Year Round)

Safe deliveries, smart plans, and a no-nonsense approach to fuel.

At APD, we’ve been keeping Fairbanks fueled for over 40 years through snowstorms and the kind of temperatures that make your eyelashes freeze mid-blink.

Energy Awareness month may have passed earlier this fall, but it’s a topic we focus on year round. Here is what it actually takes to deliver fuel smartly and securely up here. Spoiler: it’s more than just showing up. (Though we’re very good at that too.)

1. Safety Isn’t a Slogan. It’s Our Whole Deal.

Thoughtful energy use starts with responsible energy delivery. Our SAVE program (Alaska’s Values Everyday) makes sure every drop-off is done right, no matter the weather or road conditions. Here’s how we put SAVE into practice:

  • Weekly safety meetings run by our drivers (the folks who actually know the roads)

  • Pre-trip weather and road checks

  • Special training for areas like the Dalton Highway

  • Real Fairbanks humans answering the phones

2. Protecting What Powers Fairbanks

Energy efficiency isn’t just about turning off the lights. It’s about running smart operations that keep people warm without cutting corners.

At APD, we follow all the big-deal regulations – EPA, ADEC, OSHA, DOT – to make sure our work protects our people, our customers, and our corner of Alaska. We also maintain safeguards to help prevent spills, respond fast when needed, and keep our operations clean and compliant.

Translation? We take your safety seriously, your property personally, and your trust to heart.

3. Home Heating, Handled

Being energy-aware doesn’t mean hovering over your thermostat. It means planning ahead and picking the fuel delivery plan that keeps your tank full and your stress low.

We’ve got a few new plans to choose from – check them out here.
